Proudly, Wells is known as the “Friendliest Town in Maine” and the area’s “Antique Capital,” as it has one of the largest collections of used, rare bookstores and antique dealers on the Maine coast.
In fact, the entire southern coast of Maine, and most especially the charming, nearby towns of Kennebunkport and Ogunquit, offers a wide variety of exciting activities and coastal attractions. “Sea” for yourself by perusing each area’s special highlights and diverse local fare.
Wells boasts several beaches, the largest of which is Wells Beach, plus Drakes Island Beach and the smaller Crescent Beach. You’ll also find gorgeous nature trails along with casual clam shacks and diners, and gourmet restaurants.
